Meet Kalisa Vaughn

I was born into a kind of poverty that most people only read about. But God — and I mean it the way You're supposed to mean it — God delivered me. That deliverance became the seed of everything I do today.

I raised my son alone. If you've ever been a single mother, You know what that sentence carries. Late nights. Silent prayers. Doing the math three times because there's no margin for a wrong answer. In that season, I stopped asking Him for a shortcut and started asking Him for a strategy. He gave me both work and wisdom.

For more than twenty years I've built expertise in tax and finance — the boring parts most entrepreneurs skip until it costs them. I've watched brilliant business owners lose everything not because their idea was wrong, but because nobody taught them how to structure, fund, and protect it.

That's why I founded SMART Business Group LLC — a woman-owned, minority-owned, single-mother-led company. First to secure my own family. Then to hold the door open for the people I know are standing on the other side of it: Christian entrepreneurs, underserved small businesses, and minority-owned businesses who are tired of watered-down advice and shady shortcuts.

We give back on purpose. Free financial literacy classes. Volunteer tax help in our community. Annual K–12 school supply drives. An annual Christmas toy giveaway that reminds families they are seen. Every membership on the inside helps fund the work we do on the outside.
